Aaand Netflix
I was going to do a review of either Torchlight or FTL, but I've been somewhat distracted watching documentaries on Netflix.
This has probably hit all the usual websites by now, but some enterprising guys managed to get Netflix working under Linux.
I'm not that technical but basically they figured out a way to make the Windows version of Firefox and Silverlight play nice under Wine.
There's a desktop application as well, but I can't get it to work proper. Launching the Firefox browser works fine however. Just navigate to the Netflix site, or do what I did and make it the default page in the browser, and voila.
There's been various reports about performance, but it's quite smooth for me, on a pretty modest system.
OMGubuntu covers it pretty well here
Be advised that this is a workaround, and changes to Silverlight or the Netflix service could mess things up, but..seriously. Netflix on Linux!
