Openxcom

Long time no read. But the reason for breaking my hiatus is a very good one. Openxcom exists and it demands playing.

Basically this is the old XCOM / UFO game, running natively instead of in DOSBOX, and with a few extra options for convenience. Nothing exceptional, other than being the best game ever developed.

For those who missed this one, it's a grand strategy game, combining research, base management and tactical combat the likes of which have never been repeated. There are countless imitations, some even quite good, but this is the real deal without having to boot up your 386 or Amiga 1200. You do need some data files from a legit XCOM installation, but it's available at basically no cost from STEAM.
